The Grant Park Foundation is organized and operated exclusively for charitable purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986. Those charitable purposes have included the restoration and display of a 19th century John Deere Wagon and an old horse drawn sleigh both for display in the Grant Park display area along South Main Street during different seasons of the year. Several years ago, the Foundation secured a $10,000 grant and used it to begin the innovative Heldt Park. This was followed by another $10,000 donation to plant native and pollinator plants to give butterfly gardens a powerful boost. The Foundation maintains Heldt Park and provides activities for children during the summer there.
